In the make-believe world of
Dells, there are such things as graces. Graces are special abilities
that the Gracelings possess. Gracelings are the people who have a grace.
Some grace could be for swimming, or running, singing, cooking, sewing.
But Katsa's grace is to kill.
When Katsa was eight,
her distant cousin approached her, feeling threatened, Katsa hit his
nose, not wanting to kill him, but killing him. After that her uncle
Randa, king of the Middluns, makes Katsa his slave, sending her out to
torture people who haven't harmed anyone.
Katsa came up
with this council, where she and a few others, her cousin Raffin son of
Randa and a captain in Randa's court Oll included, will go and do
important things to help restore the peace in Dells. Katsa does not like
what her uncle makes her do.
On one of Katsa's mission
for the council, Katsa must rescue a Lienid prince, father of the
current king of Lienid. This Lienid Prince was kidnapped for a reason no
one knows.
This book was amazing, I loved it. The Plot
was fantastic, I don't know about you but I love when I figure out a
secret and it ends up being true. This book was like that with me, it
was predictable, but in a good way.
The only bad thing
was Katsa's morals, she does not believe in marriage. There are a couple
parts that could be skipped, and you will know them when you get to
them.
Other than that this book is amazing.
