Sixteen Brides

Sixteen Brides
By Stephanie Grace Whitson

Ms. Whitson tells a tale of women who want freedom. They are offered a chance at homesteading land in the west by a man but when they arrive they find that they are being auctioned off as brides to homesteading men. 16 of the women decide to not continue and to actually claim land for themselves without getting married. But will true love find them regardless of their needlessness of men? And will their broken hearts and pasts be healed by a second chance in the west? Ms. Whitson shows us how determination, friendship, and love can beat innumerable odds, and how overcoming one's past is possible.
