This is a
very well-written book in which you follow the coming-out of Clara
Carter in 1891. She is forced out into society though she would much
rather be going to a university, studying. She must uphold her family
honor by marrying the richest eligible young bachelor this season,
Franklin De Vries. But Harry, his younger brother, seems more eligible
to Clara, even though her aunt won't approve for his lack of a fortune.
And to add to the mess, her best friend Lizzy is also told to catch
Franklin. Will Clara follow her aunt, or her aunt, or do both fall into
the hands of the same young man? And will Lizzy be upset with Clara?
Will their friendship be sacrificed for marriage? Will love follow
marriage, or will love also be sacrificed?
